ACCESS CONTROL CARD BASED
Access Control helps us to restrict access to a premises, building, office or even server room. There is various methods that can be applied to Access Control and one of these are card/tag based. These cards and tags has been equipped with RFiD, giving each card or tag a unique ID that can be scanned by a device usually installed by the door.
Card based systems are very popular in larger corporations, however tags on the other hand are usually used for Residential Estates and Gyms. Larger Corporations prefer that every user be issued with an RFiD card that has the user's picture and credentials printed on the card.
How does the Access Control RFiD Card/Tag system work? Basically a device is installed to control all acces to a specific door, namely a Door Controller. The Door Controller connects to 2 readers, one installed on each side of the door, thus 1 for badging In and 1 for badging Out. These readers are the only devices exposed to the user and they are relatively inexpensive in comparison to the Door Controller. Should the readers be damaged, they can easily and cost effectively be replaced, whilst the Door Controller is hidden away in the roof or in a near by server room.
Access Control Software play a unique roll in allowing the user to configure the system. Various features are available on the software:
Access Levels: This feature will allow a user access to certain areas only, while restricting other areas where he or she is not authorized to enter.
Time Zone: The Time Zone is very important, by linking a user to a certain Time Zone, we can control the time he or she is allowed acces to an area. If we had to use the Lunch Room as an example, no employee should be allowed to gain access to the Lunch Room unless it is Lunch Time.
Anti-Passback: This is a very unique feature that was originally designed for Cards or Tags. Anti-Passback prevents a user to pass his card back to a friend who forgot his RFiD card at home, thus the RFiD card can only be used once going in. Once the user is in, the system will know that he has entered the zone, and therefore cannot enter the zone again unless he exits the zone by using his RFiD card.
There are many more features to the our Access Contol System, please setup a meeting with us to discuss your unique requirements.
